Every day established companies announce various crypto-related promotions that often end up being developed into a new service. Meanwhile, a number of countries have adopted crypto as a legal tender.

Crypto taking over the world

The world is changing: countries are adopting crypto as legal tender, more and more companies launch new crypto-related services, NFTs are gaining momentum among art lovers. The entertainment industry doesn’t like to lag behind.

Recently, one of the largest American cinema chains AMC has stated that they will start accepting Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) for online payments by the end of 2021.

The news resonated within the crypto community and spawned Twitter debates on whether the cinema chain would add Dogecoin to the list.

Ardent supporters of the main meme-coin on the crypto market have immediately demanded to add DOGE to the list of supported currencies. Despite all the jokes, this doggy is still in the top ten cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, according to Coinmarketcap.

AMC gets the message

Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc., has launched a poll on his Twitter account.

Devoted DOGE fans have immediately ensured positive voting results: at the time of writing, 68.4% out of about 132,000 votes are affirmative. Another 8.6% approved of this idea, but said that they are not going to use the cryptocurrency. Another 7% said that it is not worth it, while the remaining 16% chose an a-waste-of-effort option.

Elon Musk joins the chat

As the saying goes, if there is news about Dogecoin, wait for Elon Musk. This billionaire is able to completely change the situation on the cryptocurrency market with one tweet.

This time, the main Dogecoin investor was very laconic: he limited himself to liking the tweet with the poll. It is clear what he voted for anyway.

Judging by the current results of the poll, we are going to see DOGE added to the list. The question is whether cinema-goers would actually use the new service and how it would change the entertainment industry.
