Gemini and CoinDCX crypto exchanges add Shiba Inu (SHIB) support

The popular meme coin Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been added to the Gemini and CoinDCX platforms. Gemini crypto exchange has started supporting SHIB along with several new DeFi, metaverse, infrastructure, and data management tokens.

SHIB is supported on Gemini and CoinDCX

Gemini crypto exchange announced its support for the Shiba Inu (SHIB) cryptocurrency on Friday, 12^th November. “We are delighted to announce support for Shiba Inu (SHIB) as well as a range of new DeFi, metaverse, infrastructure, and data management tokens. We believe these tokens will provide value to our users and will continue to support DeFi, the budding metaverse, decentralised infrastructure, and data management environments,” Gemini stated.

In addition, CoinDCX, India’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, listed Shiba Inu on its retail app. Previously, SHIB was only available in trade-only mode on the professionally-oriented CoinDCX Pro.

Will Robinhood add SHIB to the list?

Following Gemini’s announcement, SHIB investors are hopeful that the Robinhood trading platform will be next to support the meme coin. Shiba Inu enthusiasts have been petitioning for the coin to be listed for several months. As of this writing, the petition has more than 530,000 signatures. Robinhood has made it clear that the SHIB community was heard, but the company’s position regarding the listing is still ambiguous.

Robinhood’s COO Christine Brown said the exchange is not in a rush to add new cryptocurrency coins to its trading platform.

“Our strategy is a little bit different than a lot of the other players out there who are just racing to list as many assets as possible right now,” Brown said at the Crypto Goes Mainstream event. “We think that the short-term gain we might get is not worth the long-term tradeoff for our users.”

Meanwhile, the number of Shiba Inu holders rose above 970,000 for the first time. Its value has increased by more than 30% over the past month, putting SHIB in 11th place on Coinmarketcap.com.
