Recently, the easiest way to buy Bitcoin (BTC) has become available to residents of the UK and Ireland. All you have to do is visit a retail store and buy an Azteco voucher in denominations from £10 to £100. There are currently more than 700 retailers working with the platform.
After several years of developing and testing physical retail cryptocurrency trading, Azteco has seen rapid growth, Charged reports. Residents of the UK and Ireland can now buy Bitcoin (BTC) from more than 700 retailers. In order to do so, people need to download the Wallet of Satoshi app, go to one of the retail shops and pick up an Azteco Bitcoin voucher to redeem it at the checkout.
By selling BTCs, shops receive a commission and Azteco takes a small percentage on transactions. Vouchers are available in denominations from £10 to £100. Among the stores collaborating with Azteco are Fultons, Cash Generators, Phone Convertors, PhoneHouse and GoMobile, as well as hundreds of private retailers. Azteco is in active negotiations with new partners who want to offer Bitcoin to their customers. Only three months have passed since the project was launched, but during that time, £1.5 million worth of BTC has been sold.
Residents of the US can also use Azteco’s services. In the near future, similar stores will open in Poland and all EU countries.
Azteco co-founder Akin Fernandez admits that three years ago he and Google veteran Paul Ferguson set out to make Bitcoin as accessible as possible to those not involved in investing. By overcoming technical difficulties, they managed to make the process of buying the cryptocurrency as simple as a regular mobile phone top-up.
Fernandez says that their services are in great demand not only in the UK and Ireland, but also in the US, Europe and South America. The Azteco co-founder admits that even without marketing and advertising, BTC sales volumes remain very high.
The UK cryptocurrency community is sure to welcome such news with enthusiasm. Azteco offers a really easy and affordable way to get into the crypto world and start investing. In the meantime, let’s keep an eye on how the Bitcoin voucher company emerges and develops in other countries.
