E-commerce giant Shopify integrates NFTs

Shopify, a company that develops software for e-commerce, decided to enter the field of cryptocurrencies. Recently, the company has signed a cooperation agreement with GigLabs for the integration of NFTs into its platform.

NFTs without hustle

According to the company’s CEO Tobias Lutke’s tweet, Shopify has already added the NFT service to its platform:

As part of the collaboration, the GigLabs NFT App will be integrated into the Shopify App Store. Shopify Plus sellers will be able to create and sell NFTs in a matter of minutes, even without prior experience in application development or blockchain. Moreover, as can be seen on the Shopify page, NFTs can be minted on Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), Near (NEAR) and Flow (FLOW) blockchains.

According to cryptodaily.co.uk, the GigLabs NFT App is a convenient platform that offers sellers a set of tools for creating, managing and selling NFTs. It also provides secure NFTs storage and the ability to track sales and analytical data.

Non-fungible tokens can be purchased in various ways, including Shopify Payments and Shop Pay. Crypto, credit or debit cards are also accepted as payment methods. 

Cooperation details

Shopify’s “growing NFT app ecosystem demonstrates our commitment to offering merchants an accessible approach to selling digital assets directly through their Shopify stores,” shared Robleh Jama, Director of Product at Shopify. “We’re happy to welcome GigLabs to the Shopify NFT ecosystem to help merchants build unique commerce experiences through NFTs,” he added.

Currently, the NFT Beta program is only available for Shopify Plus sellers from the US. Customers who want to integrate the GigLabs NFT app into their Shopify Plus accounts should receive additional instructions by contacting the company directly.

“The next evolution for ecommerce is NFTs, and the GigLabs NFT App in the Shopify App Store allows select businesses to quickly and easily offer NFTs to their consumers. We partnered with BreakingT and Infinite Objects as early adopters to help spec out and test our app, and now both companies are able to seamlessly integrate NFTs within their existing Shopify stores as our first customers,” said GigLabs Chief Product Officer and co-founder Brian Burns.

Even though the NFTs sphere is new for Shopify, it is a novice in the crypto space. Since 2020, the company has been accepting payments in cryptocurrency thanks to close cooperation with BTCPay.
