Jim Thompson, a company famous for its Thai silk, announced an elephant themed NFT collection in partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Binance and NFKings Productions.

Buy NFTs to save an elephant

One of the most famous silk purveyors plans to celebrate World Elephant Day, with an eye-catching sale. Jim Thompson will start selling their first NFT collection tomorrow, 12th August. The NFTs will be, of course, dedicated to elephants.

This sale is already being called “a jump onto the NFT bandwagon” in the media. Jim Thompson’s first foray into NFTs sees the artwork released in the form of a “mystery box.” Inside the boxes will be at least one NFT from a limited series of 10 collectible elephants, each assigned a different tier: common, rare, super rare, and super special rare.

We wish you luck!

60,600 mystery boxes are expected to be up for sale at $20 (~£14.48) each. However, there will be prizes for buyers, which will get at least one NFT from each tier. They include vouchers and private dinners, two-night stays at the Jim Thompson Suite at the Mandarin Oriental and the chance to name an elephant rescued by the Save Elephant Foundation.

Every NFT holder will also get a one-year membership to Jim Thompson’s loyalty program. The membership level depends on the rarity of the elephant you find in your mystery box.

“We are very proud to have brought Jim Thompson, a brand with so much history and heritage, into the NFT scene. This project is just the start of how we are going to see an inevitable marriage between the physical and digital world. Blockchain technology through the application of NFTs has now enabled traditional businesses like Jim Thompson an opportunity to experience and interact with the increasingly digitally savvy user base in a scalable and efficient manner,” Matthew Lim, CEO of NFKings Productions said.

Jim Thompson will sell more than 60,000 NFTs in partnership with Binance and NFKings Productions to promote rescue foundations, which have been hit hard by the pandemic, as well as become a part of blockchain-backed party.
