Today is 24th September, and here’s another part of CoinTribune’s NFT of the Day series with more not-too-trendy but deep and probably underestimated digital artworks that are fortunate enough to have taken the form of non-fungible tokens.

Imagine: nothing pleases you anymore, you can’t tell the days apart, all the colours seem to be dull, you don’t want to do anything: neither get up, nor eat, nor sleep, and only gloomy thoughts are buzzing in your head. Does it sound familiar?
In a state of depression, it seems that all the misfortunes and troubles have fallen on you. And happy conversations of your friends seem to be rubbing salt into your wounds. I feel so bad, how can you be having fun?
Yet, there is one word, a medical term, that seems to be explaining it all: ‘depression’, which people use even if they just feel a little blue. We “self-diagnose” and begin to feel intensely sorry for ourselves.
If the situation is truly grave, though, do not hesitate to make an appointment with a specialist, it may help.
There is an opinion that people with a certain personality type are more susceptible to depression: anxious, suspicious, active and fussy. They might have a slightly higher chance of encountering this disease. Don’t you think that creative people are in the risk group?
Today we will see the world through the eyes of an artist who managed to beat depression.
Here is how the author describes his work Big Gs: “Steaming from major depressive relapse, where the main persistent thought in my mind was that everyone seems OK and getting by just fine except me, and the journey discovering that is simply not true.”
In a series of his works, Alex Diaconu tries to show that even the gods (Zeus, Jupiter and Odin) are made of the same material, with equally crude faces. But each of us creates an expression that we want to broadcast to the world. The bottom line is that even if you see a person constantly smiling, it does not mean that they are feeling good.
To show the instability of the state of mind, the author chose saturated colours that seem to flow down from art objects. It’s the hero who decides what we will see on his face. But are these emotions genuine?
The NFT of today becomes NFT Big Gs by Alex Diaconu for thoughts about the fragility of one’s mind. The best thing about this project is that the proceeds from it will be transferred to the CALM Suicide Prevention Fund.
What thoughts does it instil? Maybe you would like to contribute to the next NFT of the Day?
