Tue 07 Dec 2021 ▪ 8 min of reading ▪ by James T.

The LiteBit exchange is coming to France! Having obtained PSAN (DASP) registration in France in May, the Dutch platform is ready to take the French market by storm! Apart from a €20 sign-up bonus and proven reliability, the exchange has many other initiatives up its sleeve. Buckle up, because we’re about to take you on an epic journey!

LiteBit’s journey

Litebit is the brainchild of two entrepreneurs. Founded in the Netherlands in 2013, it had enough time to grow before the 2017 bullrun. The company had launched a new version of its website between 2017 and 2018, just before Bitcoin took off at the end of 2017, so many customers discovered the platform during this digital gold rush. As Litebit explains, “In the aftermath of this peak, Litebit has developed into a company.” As a result, the first 14 employees at the root of the broker had to move to a new office in Rotterdam. The platform has been growing steadily ever since and now counts more than 90 professionals of more than 15 different nationalities. This constant recruitment policy is aimed at boosting the platform’s international development.

Fun fact: the company embarked on its crypto journey by listing Litecoin (LTC) as its first cryptocurrency. Bitcoin (BTC) was quick to follow, and the platform currently boasts more than 45 different cryptocurrencies. A small startup has achieved so much that Litebit is now recognised as a professional broker.

The company’s next goal is to conquer Europe. This startup has been able to survive more than 8 years in this market, thus proving its stability. With its reward program for new French users, Litebit wishes to invest in the French market, stacking all the odds in its favour.

The platform’s values

Litebit holds three fundamental values: security, simplicity, and the human side of business.

To begin with, Litebit has made every effort to ensure user security in any circumstances. Security audits are systematically carried out on the platform. Moreover, the users’ crypto is kept in their personal wallets. This prevents asset centralisation, therefore making Litebit much harder ro hack.

Next, the platform is intended to be easy to use. Available both on the web and as a mobile application, Litebit strives to cater to different users. We’ll elaborate on this further, but registration on Litebit is very easy. You are only a few clicks away from setting up your account and being able to buy and sell more than 45 different cryptos.

Finally, Litebit focuses on the human relations the platform wants to build between users and staff. 24/7 customer service in multiple languages is always ready to resolve any issues clients may have. Personally, I have experienced bad customer service from big crypto exchanges, so I’m very happy about being able to discuss an issue with a French-speaking employee.

What cryptos are available?

We have already mentioned that Litebit allows you to buy, sell and store more than 45 different cryptocurrencies. But what are they? Rest assured, because the platform has something for every investor!

Of course, all the largest cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Chainlink (LINK), and Ripple (XRP) are available on Litebit. Metaverse fans will be happy to find Decentraland (MANA), Sandbox (SAND), and other tokens listed on the platform. Finally, if you are a dog person, you can always trade Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Dogecoin (DOGE), the crypto community’s favourites.

Speaking of Shiba Inu, it is currently the last crypto to be listed by the exchange. We are not aware of the other listings to come, but Litebit isn’t going to stop at 47 cryptocurrencies, that’s for sure. The platform dreams big! Litebit currently has $5 million in exchange volume. You can check out the figures here.

How to get started on Litebit?

Litebit is available in both web and mobile versions; it is up to you to choose the interface that works best for you. Registration on the platform is subject to a rigorous KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure, in accordance with PSAN (DASP). You only need to prove your identity to be able to use all the platform’s services. However, there are several levels of verification for those who do not wish to commit all their personal data:

Level 1: phone verification – maximum daily exchange volume of €350.

Level 2: address verification – maximum daily exchange volume €500.

Level 3: ID verification – maximum daily exchange volume of €200,000 or €1,500,000 per week or month.

As I mentioned earlier, the sign-up process is really intuitive and user-friendly. The personal  information you provide will not be disclosed. Take a look at this article for a more detailed description of the registration and identity verification process.

In addition, the platform is meant to be accessible to everyone, which is why Litebit doesn’t have features reserved uniquely for experienced traders, and its interface is fully intuitive. Finally, Litebit allows customers to buy cryptos directly in euros through the most common payment methods (credit card, SEPA transfer, iDeal, etc.). The platform ultimately wishes to act as a gateway into the world of digital assets. You can also use the platform just to store crypto in your Litebit wallet.

The most reliable platform in Europe?

First of all, it’s worth mentioning that the Dutch company was voted ‘Best Crypto Broker’ two years in a row (2019 and 2020) as part of the “CashCow Awards”, confirming Litebit’s reliability. The platform is registered both with the Dutch Central Bank and the government, which guarantees its compliance. The exchange is also regularly cited by the Dutch media.

As for France, Litebit has recently celebrated its registration as a digital asset services provider (PSAN). The registration, obtained through the AMF (France’s Financial Markets Regulator), also guarantees compliance and is, in a way, proof of the platform’s legitimacy. Litebit can therefore offer all of its services in France without worrying about local financial regulators: a chance not many exchanges can enjoy!

Going back to the values held by the company, note that the Litebit team takes pride in quickly responding to users’ messages. With almost 15,000 followers on Twitter, Litebit aims to develop its social networks through online activity and community interaction. Litebit’s customer service available in French is ready to answer and solve all of your questions.

Finally, the exchange strives to be as transparent as possible: even the address of the company’s registered headquarters in Rotterdam is public. Many exchanges, like Coinbase, for instance, don’t disclose such information.
