Another part of CoinTribune’s NFT Of The Day series is here with more not-too-trendy but deep and probably underestimated digital artworks that are fortunate enough to have taken the form of non-fungible tokens.

Any work of art, be it a tune, a song, a picture, a photo, or even a book – is an attempt to captures the author’s unique view via a system or the absence of such (chaos). It entails the creator’s perspective, their views, their feelings, and their states. And the value of any more or less concise artwork is precisely that – it offers a unique chance to take on a different perspective, see the world from someone else’s eyes, and in a way, become someone else for a moment.

Today’s NFT Of The Day features a work by the Italian photographer Isabella Tabacchi.

“The Wave and the Giant” is an enthralling photograph depicting a towering peak amidst majestic stormy dark-blue seas.

With its deep sombre tones and a permeating clash of light & shadow, the picture captures the unrelenting power of the ocean that stands between the viewer and the peak, making it seem unreachable as if entrapped by the tide.

The murky nordic skies, though not without a patch of light, ultimately only make the gloom heavier, with the strokes of light poetically closing in on the centre of the composition, becoming but a background for the imposing dark silhouette of the peak.

You could compare the peak to the rock-solid resolve of man: even overwhelmed by external forces, it persists, stands its ground, no matter what, whatever betide. And yet, even if it stands for another 10,000 years – the unrelenting ocean will prevail.

The wave creates a poetic interplay with the peak

Afore the peak we see a sprightly wave rhyming gracefully with its curvy dagger-like shape. Its wispy outlines and the overall gentle, gracious aspect make it a welcome stroke of light amid the marbly dark blue… only to remind you of its fleeting nature. Even though the wave is present in the picture, in reality, it is no more and is never coming back.

If we assume that within a dozen millennia the peak will follow, dissipate, just like the wave, into nothingness forever, become a wave in the global ocean of sand and rock, then you might ask yourself: what exactly is the difference between the giant and the wave, if they both meet the same fate?

The picture’s strewn throughout with the themes of constant strife between the static and the ever-shifting, the solid and the fluid, the dark and the light, and the temporary and the inevitable.
