Starting from 2nd August through 6th, Porsche fans and customers can purchase an exclusive car sketch created by Porsche Director Exterior Design. According to the cryptodaily.co.uk website, Fans of the brand will be able to buy this original sketch in the form of an NFT via an American platform SuperRare.

Unique sketch

The exclusive sketch will be available in both physical and digital forms, and all proceeds from the auction will be donated to the non-profit organization Viva Con Agua.

This endeavour was supported by its subsidiary Porsche Digital and a technology startup Fanzone, the NFT trading card platform.

An exciting moment for Porsche

The NFT auction has generated significant public excitement and marked a new direction for the German sports car manufacturer, paving the way for possible future projects.

Porsche Deutschland CEO Alexander Pollich said: “With the NFT initiative, we are once again demonstrating the pioneering spirit typical of Porsche, with which we are always boldly entering new terrain. With NFT, we are addressing existing Porsche customers, who are often passionate collectors, as well as new, younger target groups with a high affinity for digital trends. What is also especially pleasing for me is the fact that the initiative for the project was developed in our internal innovation process and implemented within a few months.”

Porsche’s Director Exterior Design, Peter Varga, also commented on the event: “Drawing a design sketch which is then traded online as a digital object was a completely new experience for me. The sketch combines the Taycan Cross Turismo with the 911. It links the design language of our iconic sports car with that of the youngest member of the model range. I look forward to seeing the response generated by this unique item among the auction participants.”

Trading card platform

As part of the NFT launch, Porsche is partnering with Fanzone, which was founded by Forward31, a division of Porsche GmbH. The startup was created in 2021 and currently operates an online platform that allows fans to collect or trade digital game cards in the form of NFTs. Fans can also benefit from the increased value of their NFTs. Fanzone uses blockchain technology to guarantee the safety of collectables.

Viva con Agua

Founded in Hamburg in 2006, Viva con Agua is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing people with access to sanitation, good hygiene and clean drinking water. The organisation supports multiple projects around the world, especially in Uganda and South Africa.

This sketch auction makes Porsche one of the German companies that adopted NFTs as a way to secure ownership of digital works of art, and more are on the way!
