Today, on 8th December, Shiba Inu made an official statement on Twitter, announcing that the team had signed a strategic agreement with the video game developer Playside.

The Shiba Inu community has long been expecting the team to try themselves in game development, and finally the official statement came out.

Playside announced about the partnership with an ambitious crypto project on its website. The game is planned to be developed in eight months, the release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.

“PlaySide continues to demonstrate its capability to partner with leaders across a range of fields within interactive entertainment including leading influencers and global gaming brands. To add a new games client that has emerged from the popular NFT, token and decentralised cryptocurrency industry is very exciting for us. Emerging technologies continue to gather pace, and this is an ideal opportunity for PlaySide to collaborate in this field, expand our skill base and showcase our development abilities. The scale of the agreement with Shiba Inu Games is also significant and highlights the depth of our capabilities as we continue to grow our business,” PlaySide CEO Jerry Sakkas said.

Playside is a public company and Australia’s largest video game developer. Playside has worked on such projects as “Age of Darkness. Final Stand”, “Walking Dead. Saints and Sinners”, “Battle Simulator. Warfare”, etc.

It’s not that surprising that SHIB decided to launch its own collectible card game. With the GameFi and NFT sectors steadily growing, there are a lot of projects that set similar goals. The play-2-earn concept has stuck in people’s minds. The way of earning money without long and tedious investments or learning the crypto trading basics is the very incentive that can push the game development industry to new heights.
