Crypto: HBAR Surges 25% in 24 Hours to Reach an 8-Month High
Hedera’s token surged nearly 30% on Monday and Tuesday, hitting its highest point since January, before retreating on Wednesday. The momentum owes much to the arrival of an identity solution for AI agents on IBM Cloud. Another catalyst attributed to the network, a tokenization signed by BlackRock, remains to be confirmed.

In brief
- HBAR peaked around 0.13 dollar, its highest since early January, before falling below 0.11 dollar this Wednesday.
- The confirmed catalyst is Hashgraph Group’s IDTrust, listed since September 23 on the IBM Cloud Catalog.
- A report mentions tokenization of BlackRock’s money market fund on Hedera, without official confirmation at this stage.
A 30% jump, then the retreat
Hedera, one of the four projects capturing 70% of tokenized asset activity, saw its crypto jump nearly 30% on Monday and Tuesday, from around 0.096 dollar to a peak close to 0.13 dollar, its highest since January. Its market capitalization crossed 5 billion dollars, surpassing Avalanche and Sui, and the increase reaches nearly 60% over two weeks.
The celebration was brief. This Wednesday morning, HBAR traded around 0.108 dollar, down 8.5% over 24 hours (CoinGecko data, September 30, 11:20 UTC), with a market capitalization falling back to around 4.7 billion. The indicators had warned. The daily RSI exceeded 81, in overbought territory, and the main remaining cluster of liquidations is below 0.108 dollar.
IBM confirms, BlackRock still waits
The most tangible catalyst dates to September 23. The Swiss group Hashgraph Group validated its IDTrust, a self-sovereign identity solution, and had it listed in the IBM Cloud catalog. It serves to verify the identity of AI agents acting on behalf of companies, each ID being anchored on Hedera. IBM, a governance council member since 2019, thus offers the ecosystem a first commercial outlet on a major cloud catalog.
The other driver attributed to the rally is less clear. Information reported on September 28 mentions the tokenization of BlackRock’s ICS US Treasury money market fund shares on Hedera, via Securitize, for approximately 38 billion dollars in assets. A significant nuance applies.
The often cited figure of 40 billion covers the entire money market fund range, not the assets deployed on Hedera; neither the timeline nor the exact scope have been detailed. BlackRock has, at this stage, published no confirmation.
Will the crypto follow the network’s activity?
The real debate remains open. Hedera accumulates corporate references, but its activity is often settled in dollars, and nothing guarantees that this adoption reflects in the crypto price. Chart analysts, however, believe it will.
For Doctor Profit, every crossing of the 50-week moving average preceded significant movements; OxNeena targets 0.20, 0.30 then 0.45 dollar in case of exiting a descending channel. Technical readings, not promises.
Listed vehicles also call for caution. Grayscale removed its Cardano, Hedera, and Polkadot filings this summer, and the race for altcoin ETFs remains young. For what’s next, Hedera news will be the best observation post.
Two concrete deadlines are emerging. Support below 0.108 dollar must hold against liquidations, and the BlackRock dossier must move past the rumor stage. Beyond HBAR, a broader question is at stake, that of blockchains envisioning themselves as AI infrastructure.
