Summarize this article with:

CryptoRank has just crowned BNB Chain as the world number one in RWA growth in 2026 with +3.6 billion dollars recorded since January. Solana follows with +2.6 billion, Stellar with +2.5 billion. Nice trophy. Except that on the same September 12, DeFiLlama tells a completely different story: Solana returns ahead of Robinhood Chain in application revenues and DEX volume over 24 hours. Two rankings, two crypto realities. Here’s why they should not be confused.

BNB Chain at the top of RWA growth in 2026 with +3.6 billion $, but Solana regains the lead in crypto revenues and DEX volume.

In brief

  • BNB Chain claims +3.6 billion dollars in RWA growth in 2026.
  • This figure measures an annual value variation, not crypto trading activity.
  • Solana regains the world lead in application revenues and DEX volume over 24 hours.

Crypto: BNB Chain claims 3.6 billion dollars in RWA growth

On September 12, BNB Chain shared on X a CryptoRank chart ranking blockchains by growth in RWA value (Real World Assets) since the beginning of 2026. Leading are:

  • BNB Chain with +3.6 billion dollars;
  • Ahead of Solana which has +2.6 billion dollars;
  • Stellar +2.5 billion dollars;
  • Ethereum +1.6 billion dollars;
  • Avalanche +1 billion dollars;
  • zkSync +750 million dollars.

The total value of on-chain RWAs would then have exceeded 39 billion dollars, up more than 50% since January. The major caveat is that this chart measures a variation, not a stock. It says nothing about the total held value, exchange volume, revenues generated for the crypto network, nor demand for the BNB token. And CryptoRank publishes neither product-by-product breakdown nor complete methodology. We only know that BNB Chain has gained ground. We don’t know exactly thanks to what.

The same dashboard can tell four different stories

The RWA.xyz dashboard dedicated to BNB Chain shows about 5.6 billion dollars in distributed asset value, 14.3 billion dollars in stablecoin capitalization, and 14.9 billion dollars in transfer volume over 30 days. Three figures, three different definitions. Distributed value says nothing about exchange frequency, the stablecoins are a separate category that should not be confused with tokenized investment products, and transfer volume includes crypto issuer transactions, redemptions, bridge movements as well as real investor demand.

BNB Chain now hosts tokenized money funds, products linked to Treasuries and tokenized stocks, with Franklin Templeton, Circle, BitGo and Ondo Global Markets among the key listed issuers. This concentration is common in a still young and regulated market. But, it also means that a handful of decisions can move the ranking without reflecting a real change in demand.

Solana regains the crown of real crypto activity

An RWA growth trophy looks nice on an infographic. Crypto users paying fees every day is what keeps a chain alive. And on this ground, September 12 delivered a completely different ranking. According to DeFiLlama data shared the same day by SolanaNews.sol and Whale Insider accounts on X, Solana regained the world lead in application revenues over 24 hours with 6.93 million dollars. Far ahead of BNB Chain, which ranks fifth with 1.02 million dollars, less than one-sixth of Solana’s figure.

Same trend on 24-hour DEX volume where Solana takes the lead with 3.248 billion dollars, ahead of Robinhood Chain (2.716 billion dollars), Ethereum (1.828 billion dollars) and BSC (1.332 billion dollars). So, the same day BNB Chain was waving its RWA trophy, another ranking based on real crypto network usage rather than issued asset value placed Solana far ahead. The two figures don’t technically contradict because one can dominate asset tokenization and remain quiet on active trading. Except that waving a RWA growth figure without specifying what it measures is telling half the story.

What to retain from BNB Chain taking the lead in RWA growth in 2026?

  • BNB Chain claims +3.6 billion dollars in RWA growth in 2026, a record variation not total value.
  • BNB Chain’s own RWA.xyz metrics tell different stories depending on the indicator used (distributed value, stablecoins, transfer volume).
  • On September 12, Solana regained the top spot worldwide in application revenues and DEX volume over 24 hours, far ahead of BNB Chain.
  • A lead in tokenized value guarantees neither demand for the native token nor sustainable on-chain activity.

The real test for BNB Chain is therefore not to add issuers to the RWA.xyz table, but to show these assets continue to circulate after their issuance. This concerns secondary liquidity, collateral use and repeated transactions. While waiting for this proof, September 12 mainly showed two winning crypto chains, but not on the same ground.
