Crypto Market Cap Reclaims $4.1T Amid ETF Surge
Institutional capital is returning strongly to the crypto market. This week, spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded their highest inflows in two months, pushing the total capitalization beyond 4.1 trillion dollars. Such a symbolic threshold reflects a massive renewed interest in cryptos.
In Brief
- Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.7 billion in net inflows in one week, an unprecedented record in two months.
- Wednesday alone saw $800 million in inflows, reflecting a marked resurgence in institutional interest.
- This bullish momentum accompanied a 4.5% increase in BTC, rising from $110,000 to $115,000.
- The total crypto market capitalization once again surpassed the symbolic $4.1 trillion mark.
The Strong Comeback of Bitcoin ETF : Massive Flows as Market Catalysts
This Thursday, spot Bitcoin ETF already showed $1.7 billion in net inflows over the week. Wednesday alone recorded nearly $800 million in net purchases, marking the strongest weekly performance for Bitcoin ETF in nearly two months.
This resurgence of institutional interest was accompanied by a bullish movement in bitcoin, with the price rising from $110,000 to $115,000 in one week, a 4.5 % increase. Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw strong demand this week, illustrating the return of a strong appetite for regulated crypto products.
This momentum is clearly reflected in the following figures, confirming the direct correlation between capital inflows and price recovery :
- $1.7 billion in net inflows into BTC ETFs between Monday and Thursday ;
- A daily peak of $800 million on Wednesday ;
- A rebound in BTC price of +4.5 %, rising from $110,000 to $115,000.
These movements reflect a return of confidence from professional investors towards bitcoin, through regulated and transparent financial instruments. Spot ETFs, requiring actual BTC purchases to support their shares, have a direct impact on supply and demand.
This mechanism clearly favored the market this week, in a climate where the total crypto capitalization surpassed 4.1 trillion dollars again, a threshold not crossed for several weeks.
Ether : The Rise of Institutional Power and a Concentration of Reserves
While attention focused on Bitcoin ETFs, Ether did not stay behind. Spot Ether ETFs recorded over $230 million in net inflows this week, reversing the previous week’s trend which saw nearly $800 million in outflows.
This recovery was accompanied by a significant event on the corporate treasury side : BitMine, a major institutional player, purchased 202,500 ETH on Monday, thus crossing the threshold of 2 million ETH in its portfolio, according to Strategic ETH Reserve data. On Wednesday, the company continued its accumulation with an additional $200 million ETH purchase via BitGo.
These massive transactions are part of a broader trend of institutional concentration on Ether. Currently, private companies hold around 5 million ETH, worth $22.1 billion, while ETFs hold 6.6 million, valued at nearly $30 billion.
In total, nearly 12 million ETH, or about 10 % of the circulating supply, are now in the hands of institutional players. This concentration raises questions about both medium-term available liquidity and new supply-and-demand dynamics that could influence the price.
As these reserves grow, the implications for the Ethereum network become multiple: potential scarcity of circulating ETH, long-term volatility reduction, but also consolidation of Ethereum’s role as a financial foundation for institutions. The current level of accumulation might also signal a reorganization of the DeFi landscape, as these large entities seek to optimize their yields or integrate staking mechanisms.
