Ethereum Hits New Milestone With 35.35 Million ETH Staked
Ethereum continues to amaze the market. More than 35.35 million ETH are now staked, representing 29% of the circulating supply. This historic figure confirms a strong trend: investors prefer to keep their ETH locked up long-term. This reduces liquidity in the crypto market! We explain more in this article.
In brief
- 29% of ETH are now staked, reducing liquidity and signaling increasing scarcity.
- Accumulation addresses reach a record, reflecting investor confidence despite the decline.
An Ethereum staking record despite price decline
Launched with The Merge, the staking contract reaches a decisive milestone. Today, 35.35 million ETH are indeed locked on the network. This would be equivalent to 89.1 billion dollars. Which represents more than 20% of Ethereum’s market capitalization. A level never reached before!
This situation occurs even as the ETH price has dropped by 23% since the beginning of the year. That said, this decline does not seem to scare institutional investors. Quite the opposite!
Proof: US spot ETFs record sustained demand, with 10.5 billion dollars allocated to Ethereum. This represents about 3% of its market capitalization.
This paradoxical dynamic suggests a strategy anticipating scarcity: the fewer ETH locked, the higher their potential value.
Accumulation addresses explode, a strong signal
Another remarkable signal: accumulation addresses, which have never sold ETH, have reached 22.8 million units. This reflects growing confidence in the future of the crypto network. Often considered strong hands, these wallets reinforce the idea of an imminent imbalance between supply and demand.
When combining these data — high staking, declining liquidity, durable accumulation — the picture is clear. Ethereum is becoming an increasingly scarce asset. Some analysts see this as latent bullish pressure, temporarily masked by a market correction.
Investor behavior indicates, in any case, that Ethereum is undergoing a structural transformation. Less liquid, more accumulated, ETH could soon surprise on the upside. The question remains whether the market will be able to read these signals in time!
