Summarize this article with:

In the week ending September 20, the average volume of XRP transferred to the Binance exchange platform reached 21.7 million tokens, 663% higher than its quarterly reference. Meanwhile, XRP surpassed $1.50, however, these inflows are not sufficient to confirm an increase towards $1.80.

An immense black and yellow financial infrastructure occupies the right side of the image. Its armored door bears only Binance's graphic symbol, without any words. From the left arrives a spectacular wave composed of hundreds of XRP coins. They roll, bounce, and rush into several pipes converging toward the vault's entrance. Above the stream, a large mechanical counter displays simply 663%. In the foreground, a platform operator in a suit turns around with an expression of utter astonishment at the scale of the influx. A second technician attempts to open a huge valve further to absorb the flow.

In Brief

  • XRP inflows on Binance have jumped 663%, to 21.7 million tokens per day.
  • Despite this increase, Binance’s reserves remain almost stable, at 2.63 billion XRP.
  • The flows mainly show a strong token rotation rather than accumulation on the exchange.
  • About 1.6 billion XRP from large addresses are estimated to have joined Binance in one month.
  • The $1.80 threshold remains a technical scenario, still dependent on price strength and flows on Binance.

XRP Deposits Reach 21.7 Million Per Day

The Binance exchange recorded an average of 21,718,631 XRP per day during the past week. This 663% increase indicates that these deposits represent 7.63 times their reference level, estimated at nearly 2.85 million XRP per day.

Nevertheless, this average must be interpreted with caution. According to CryptoQuant data, no inflow was received on September 12, 15, 18, and 19. Some indicators were also missing for September 20. The weekly average was therefore strongly raised by a few large transfers.

Activity observed on Binance can best be measured by four figures :

  • Average deposits reached 21.7 million XRP per day ;
  • Monthly inflows rose by 457 % ;
  • Monthly outflows increased by 167 % ;
  • Reserves reached 2.63 billion XRP, an increase of only 0.34 % over one week.

Such a divergence reveals that the strong increase in deposits has not triggered a comparable accumulation in Binance wallets. Indeed, a major part of the tokens has therefore been withdrawn, exchanged, or transferred to other accounts after arriving on the exchange.

Binance Reserves Remain Almost Stable

Transfers to an exchange are generally seen as a potential sell signal. Thus, holders often have to send their tokens to a platform before selling them. However, a deposit does not immediately equate to a sale on the spot market.

Transferred XRP can serve as collateral for derivative products, support market-making activities, or simply reflect portfolio reorganization. Internal movements between addresses belonging to the same platform can also inflate some indicators without signifying an actual investment decision.

At the end of the period, Binance’s reserves stood at nearly 2.630 billion XRP. They exceeded their quarterly reference by only 0.22%, despite the surge in inflows. There is therefore strong token rotation rather than massive accumulation on the exchange platform.

About 1.6 billion XRP from large addresses are also estimated to have joined Binance in one month, a peak since March. This statistic confirms renewed activity among large holders, but it does not determine whether they actually sold. The hypothesis that buyers absorbed the entire deposited supply thus remains an interpretation and not a conclusion automatically demonstrated by the flows.

The $1.80 Threshold Remains a Technical Scenario

XRP, Ripple’s crypto, has gained over 5% in 24 hours and approached an intraday high near $1.59. Thus, surpassing $1.50 has put the $1.80 zone among targets watched by some traders.

An increase from $1.59 to $1.80 would still be a rise of nearly 13.2%. From the $1.50 threshold, the required movement could reach 20%. However, no valuation model is provided to precisely explain this target. The $1.80 thus represents a potential resistance.

The next movement will mainly depend on XRP’s ability to hold the $1.50 threshold. A simultaneous increase in Binance’s reserves and a slowdown in price could signal growing selling pressure. Conversely, stable or decreasing reserves combined with sustained volumes would support the hypothesis of demand capable of absorbing new deposits.
