Getting informed Bitcoin (BTC)
Summarize this article with:

Strategy bought 950 BTC for 75.7 million dollars, thus ending a two-week pause. Michael Saylor’s company also repurchased 174 million dollars of its preferred STRC shares, and on its side, Strive made roughly the same bet on Bitcoin the same week.

Strategy buys 950 bitcoins and repurchases 174 million STRC, while Strive follows an almost identical path that same week.

In Brief

  • Strategy brings its treasury to 846,000 BTC after a purchase at an average price of 79,670 dollars per unit.
  • Strategy also spent 174 million dollars to repurchase its STRC shares.
  • Strive bought 1,355 BTC at almost the same price, while Bitcoin becomes the 10th largest global asset again.

Strategy Resumes Massive Bitcoin Purchases

After taking a two-week break, Strategy restarts its bitcoin purchases. According to the 8-K form filed Monday with the SEC, Michael Saylor‘s company acquired 950 BTC for 75.7 million dollars, at an average price of 79,670 dollars per token. Strategy’s treasury then rises to 846,000 BTC, approximately 63.8 billion dollars in total at an average cost of 75,416 dollars per bitcoin. With bitcoin trading at 84,925 dollars at publication, the company’s unrealized gain is approximately 8.05 billion dollars.

But Strategy is not only accumulating bitcoin as it also allocated 174 million dollars to repurchase 1.77 million STRC shares. This reassures investors about its ability to manage commitments while continuing to buy BTC. It still has 875.1 million dollars available under this buyback program, and 1 billion dollars for the MSTR share program. The only slight downside is that Strategy’s cash treasury dropped nearly 20% in one week, falling from 1.30 to 1.05 billion dollars.

Strive Buys BTC at Almost the Same Price as Strategy

Strategy is not alone in this as Strive, the fifth largest bitcoin holder among publicly traded companies worldwide, announced the same day that it added 1,355 BTC to its treasury. This cost 107.7 million dollars at an average price of 79,475 dollars per BTC. Comparing this figure to Strategy’s 79,670 dollars, the difference is just 195 dollars. At this level of precision, it almost seems like the two companies coordinated before hitting the BTC purchase button.

Strive thus brings its total to 26,355 BTC, and its stock rose 6.44% to 32.03 dollars. Part of the funding for these BTC purchases comes from exercising warrants that generated 21.2 million dollars in liquidity last week. Counting these amounts, 57.7% of the total capital raised by Strive comes from its SATA program. The company not only buys bitcoin but actively structures its financing to continue doing so.

Why Is Everyone Scrambling for Bitcoin Right Now?

Here is the info that puts it all into perspective. According to a ranking of the largest global assets by market capitalization, published in September 2026, bitcoin has regained its place as the 10th largest global asset, with a total value of 1.712 trillion dollars. Tenth behind gold (30.567 trillion), Nvidia (5.367 trillion), Apple, Alphabet, silver, Microsoft, Amazon, TSMC, and even SpaceX (2.012 trillion). Bitcoin closes the top 10.

BTC in the tenth place among global assets.

So yes, it is a strong symbol for supporters of “hard money”. But it also puts things into perspective because while Strategy empties its treasury and Strive structures complex financing to scrape together a few hundred million dollars of bitcoins, gold alone weighs seventeen times more than the entire bitcoin market. The race to accumulate makes a lot of noise. The real weight, however, remains far behind traditional assets.

What to Retain from Strategy’s New Massive BTC Purchase

  • Strategy bought 950 BTC for 75.7 million dollars, bringing its total treasury to 846,000 bitcoins.
  • Strategy also repurchased 174 million dollars of STRC shares while seeing its cash treasury decline by 20%.
  • Strive bought 1,355 BTC at a price almost identical to Strategy’s, partly relying on exercising warrants.
  • Bitcoin remains last in the global top 10 assets by market capitalization, far behind gold.

Two companies, two treasuries but a single reflex: buy bitcoin. Strategy and Strive move almost in mirror, even in the average price paid per BTC unit. But the ranking of the largest global assets reminds one thing: even at this accumulation pace, bitcoin remains a lightweight compared to gold or the giants of global tech. The race continues but the podium will have to wait a little longer.
