What does the AI Expo Europe program offer ?
AI Expo Europe takes place on November 1 and 2, 2026 in Bucharest, on a conference stage and a demo stage, according to the official event agenda. On November 1, Microsoft, Google, Oracle and LinkedIn each hold a keynote; on November 2, NVIDIA, Adobe, ING, Alibaba Cloud, IBM, KPMG and Palo Alto Networks follow. The topic relates to that of AI agents in crypto payments, already covered by the editorial team.
The round tables focus on uses and their limits: AI in defense and national security, child protection against deepfakes, the AI supply chain (chips, cloud, data, model providers) or the global race for AI. A session deals with the AI Act, the European regulation on artificial intelligence, with a fundamental question: who is responsible for the AI deployed? The agenda announces discussions on governance, compliance and responsibility at large scale.
The “AI in Action” stage follows 14 live demonstrations, each lasting an hour, from code to customer service, with cases in finance, accounting, data analysis, law or competitive intelligence. The accounting one starts from data extraction of invoices to anomaly detection.
What place for crypto and blockchain at AI Expo Europe?
No session on the online agenda deals with crypto or blockchain, but several announced speakers have this profile, according to the biographies published by the organizer on October 6, 2026. The place of crypto therefore passes through persons rather than session titles. Cointribune details the general framework in its explanation of AI agents in crypto.
Sergiu T. Vasilescu, managing partner of the VD Law Group firm, is presented as a specialist in fintech, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, ranked Band 1 in fintech by Chambers and Partners. Three other lawyers from the firm, Luca Dejan, Bogdan Rotaru and Ana Maria Buta, are announced with practices in blockchain or crypto.
Felix Crisan is co-founder and CTO of Netopia, described as the largest electronic payment processor in Romania, and co-founder of BTKO.in, described as the first Romanian crypto exchange, operational since 2013. The blockchain traceability platform founded by Sebastian Cochinescu, entrepreneur and business angel, was used in 2019 during NATO’s Vigorous Warrior exercise. The sessions of these speakers are not included in the online agenda: their speaking time remains to be confirmed. The session on the AI Act may also concern crypto platforms that integrate AI, for example in customer support or fraud prevention.
Why is AI a topic for a market with 5.2% adoption?
In 2025, 5.2% of Romanian companies with 10 or more employees used AI, the lowest rate in the European Union, against an average of 20% in the Union and 42% in Denmark, according to Eurostat (survey on the use of ICT in companies, published in December 2025). The gap between Denmark and Romania is a factor of eight.
The organizer draws an argument from this. In its 2025 edition report, published July 6, 2026, it states that more than 3,200 professionals bought or claimed a ticket and that 176 companies bought multiple tickets, i.e. more than half the tickets sold. These figures are self-declared and have not been independently verified.
The question each company in these 5.2% (soon much more) asks is no longer “should we use AI”, but “where does it really pay off for us.

How much do tickets cost and how to use COINTRIBUNE20?
Three tickets are offered: Standard at €99 excl. VAT, Premium at €199 excl. VAT and VIP at €399 excl. VAT, according to the organizer’s ticketing consulted on October 6, 2026. The code COINTRIBUNE20 opens a 20% discount on this ticketing; it is entered during the order.
| Ticket | Price excl VAT | Networking lunch | Gala and AI Excellence Awards dinner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | €99 | No | No |
| Premium | €199 | Yes | No |
| VIP | €399 | Yes | Yes |
The pricing page, however, lists access to lunch and gala for all three tickets, which contradicts the agenda. This point should be confirmed with the organizer before purchase.
As of October 6, 2026, the agenda still displays two “TBA” mentions: the opening keynote on November 1 and a company presentation. The names of the round table speakers, including the one on the AI Act, are also not published. These points will be verified on the official agenda by the opening, November 1. On AI applied to crypto, Cointribune has already published the Alchemy CEO’s thesis on AI agents.
