Bitcoin Holds Strong: Why $76,000 Is the Level That Matters Now

Summarize this article with:

Bitcoin has had every excuse to break down harder. The market has had to absorb the recent Binance hack, political uncertainty around the U.S. elections, geopolitical tension and a generally nervous macro environment. Yet BTC has continued to hold around one of the most important zones on the chart. That is what interests me most right now: not the headlines, but how well Bitcoin has behaved despite them.

Bitcoin Holds Strong: Why ,000 Is the Level That Matters Now

The bigger picture has not changed

My long-term view remains clear: Bitcoin and gold are scarce assets that can protect against the loss of purchasing power and monetary expansion.

Crises do not always destroy markets; they often lead to more debt, more liquidity and inflation.

Bitcoin has held up better than many expected

On the four-hour chart, Bitcoin is still showing short-term weakness. The structure is bearish on this timeframe, and that is something I am not ignoring. But the important point is that the larger bullish scenario has not been invalidated yet

BTC/USD – 4H chart. Short-term structure remains weak while price holds above the key $76,000 area.

$80,000–$81,000 must be recovered

Bitcoin has lost the daily EMA50, an area I considered an important support. For me, the next positive signal would be to recover the $80,000–$81,000 region with conviction and, ideally, confirm that recovery on a weekly close.

If BTC can reclaim that area, the market would start to look much healthier again. Until then, I remain constructive on the higher timeframe, but cautious in the short term.

BTC/USD – 1D chart. The market is attempting to recover after reacting strongly from the $76,000 support zone.

$76,000 is the key support

For several weeks I have been talking about the range between roughly $76,000 and $85,000. That range is still the one that matters most to me.

The key level is $76,000. As long as Bitcoin continues to defend it, my preferred scenario remains that we are seeing a correction inside a broader bullish structure.

We have already seen buyers react from this region. After everything the market has had to digest, the fact that BTC has not collapsed through this area is significant. It does not guarantee that the low is in, but it tells me there is still real demand at an important level.

What happens if Bitcoin loses $76,000?

This is the scenario where I would become significantly more defensive.

A clear weekly close below $76,000 would be an important sign of weakness and would increase the risk of Bitcoin moving toward the $67,000–$69,000 region.

That does not mean BTC must fall there. Markets do not move in certainties. But if $76,000 fails, $67,000–$69,000 becomes a scenario that has to be taken seriously rather than ignored.

This is also why I prefer to react to confirmation instead of trying to predict every candle. A bullish long-term view should never become an excuse to ignore what price is actually telling us.

Why I still favour the bullish scenario

Right now, the scenario I trust most is still the bullish one, provided Bitcoin keeps defending $76,000.

The market has gone through a difficult sequence of headlines and yet BTC has continued to hold a major support area. For me, resilience during bad news is often more informative than strength during good news.

If Bitcoin can recover the daily EMA50 and regain the $80,000–$81,000 area, I would become much more confident that this correction is simply part of a larger continuation.

If it cannot, I will adapt. The goal is not to be permanently bullish or permanently bearish. The goal is to remain aligned with the structure.

Conclusion

Above $76,000: I continue to watch the broader bullish structure, even though the four-hour timeframe remains bearish.

Below $76,000 on a weekly close: the risk of a deeper correction toward $67,000–$69,000 increases considerably.

For now, Bitcoin is still standing. And considering the amount of negative news the market has absorbed, that resilience is exactly why I am not ready to abandon the bullish scenario.

My current map:
• Above $76,000 → the broader bullish scenario remains alive
• Reclaim $80,000–$81,000 → the structure starts to improve again
• Lose $76,000 on a weekly close → the probability of a deeper correction rises sharply

Will BTC defend $76,000, or are we about to see a deeper correction?
