Strategy strengthens its bitcoin reserves with a new purchase of 250 units, made between October 5 and 11. At the same time, the company allocated 192.4 million dollars to repurchase its preferred STRC shares. These operations illustrate two axes of its financial management: increasing its digital assets and organizing the financing of its commitments. As of October 11, its reserves reach a record level, while its liquidity remains at the heart of its strategy now.

  • Its reserves reach a record of 848,250 BTC, acquired for 64 billion dollars.
  • The company repurchases 1.93 million preferred STRC shares for 192.4 million dollars.

Strategy buys 250 bitcoins at an average price of 86,194 dollars

After Michael Saylor sent a signal hinting at a new purchase, Strategy took action. According to its press release published Monday, the company spent 21.5 million dollars to acquire 250 bitcoins between October 5 and 11. The average price stood at 86,194 dollars per unit, fees included. This operation brings its reserves to 848,250 BTC, a new record.

In total, it has invested 64 billion dollars in these assets, at an average cost of 75,444 dollars per bitcoin. To finance the purchase, it sold nearly 125,000 ordinary MSTR shares under its market offering program. This sale brought it 21 million dollars.

Strategy supplemented the financing with 500,000 dollars in cash and did not sell any preferred shares during the week. It had also announced a gain of 21 billion dollars in the third quarter.

A massive repurchase of preferred STRC shares

Alongside its purchases, Strategy repurchased 1,932,145 STRC shares, its variable-rate preferred Stretch securities. It devoted 192.4 million dollars to this operation. After this repurchase, 354.8 million dollars remain available in the program dedicated to these shares.

The company had recently proposed calculating dividends on its preferred shares over 365 days per year. No sale of preferred shares accompanied the operations from October 5 to 11.

Strategy also indicated that it could sell up to 1.25 billion dollars of bitcoin under its digital financing program. In September, its CEO, Phong Le, defended a bitcoin sale as a wise operation. A few weeks later, however, the company set a record after a 143 million dollar purchase.

Dollar reserves remain a central element

As of October 11, Strategy held 4.88 billion dollars in reserve to cover preferred dividends and debt interest. It also had 640.5 million dollars in cash for its needs, including future bitcoin purchases. These amounts are intended for distinct uses.

The company had established a reserve of 1.44 billion dollars, then separated its cash after raising 2 billion through MSTR share sales. This organization distinguishes funds intended for payments from liquidity available for other needs.

According to the prediction platform Myriad, participants estimate only a 5% probability that Strategy will hold well over one million BTC before 2027. The pace of acquisitions and funding decisions will remain decisive in tracking its bitcoin reserves.

Strategy continues accumulating BTC while adjusting its financing and reserves. Its record reserves coexist with liquidity dedicated to dividends, interest, and current needs. Upcoming decisions will help assess whether this dynamic holds until the end of the year.
