Qubic AGI Lab in Basel on November 7: Decentralized AI, Free Entry
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00, the Swiss association Qubic AGI Lab hosts “Decentralized AGI on Qubic” in Basel, a free day dedicated to decentralized artificial intelligence built on the Qubic network. Talks, a live demo, workshops capped at 12 seats and a closing panel take place at the Escape Bar, Gasstrasse 1, in English and German, with registration required by October 31 according to the official event page. Qubic’s Core Tech Lead, Joetom, will be in attendance, giving participants direct access to the person who runs the network’s core technology.

In Brief
- Saturday, November 7, 2026, 10:00 to 16:00, doors open at 9:30, Escape Bar, Gasstrasse 1, 4056 Basel.
- Free entry: the association covers the costs; registration closes on October 31.
- Qubic Core Tech Lead Joetom will attend, alongside speakers still to be announced.
- On the program: a keynote on Qubic, Aigarth and AGI, useful proof of work (UPoW), ecosystem tooling, 12-seat workshops and a panel.
- Organizer: Qubic AGI Lab, a non-profit association based in Effingen (Aargau), independent of the Qubic network according to its statutes.
What Is “Decentralized AGI on Qubic” in Basel?
It is a day of talks and workshops on decentralized artificial general intelligence, meaning AI trained by an open network of computers rather than by the data centers of a single company. It is organized by Qubic AGI Lab, a Swiss association governed by Articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code, whose mission is to promote research, education and public debate on this topic, building on the open-source Qubic network.
The association describes itself as legally, financially and organizationally independent of the Qubic network, whose model of turning every CPU cycle into real-world value Cointribune has already covered. A day like this works like an open workshop: you see the tools and the people using them, not just the shop window.
Open to everyone: community, developers, researchers and anyone curious.

Who Will Be There?
The headline name confirmed so far is Joetom, Qubic’s Core Tech Lead. He is the one who walked the community through the technical architecture of Qubic’s Dogecoin mining launch in a live AMA in March 2026, as recounted in the official recap of that session. For developers and miners, the Basel day is a rare chance to put questions about the network’s core directly to its technical lead, in person rather than on Discord.
The rest of the speaker lineup has not yet been published by the organizer. The event is open to the Qubic community, developers, researchers and newcomers, with no stated prerequisites.
What Is on the Program?
The program, still provisional, follows a simple arc: vision in the morning, hands-on work in the afternoon. The times published by the organizer are as follows.
| Time | Session | Announced content |
|---|---|---|
| 9:30 | Arrival | Doors open, coffee |
| 10:00 | Welcome | Opening of the day |
| 10:15 | Keynote | Qubic, Aigarth and AGI |
| 10:55 | Talk | UPoW and mining |
| 11:40 | Talk | Tooling and ecosystem |
| 12:05 | Lightning talks | Short presentations |
| 12:35 | Lunch | |
| 13:30 | Presentation and demo | Live demonstration |
| 14:00 | Workshops and debate | Workshops of up to 12 seats, open-floor debate in parallel |
| 15:30 | Panel | Closing panel, followed by an aperitif |
The afternoon workshops work like a chef’s table: few seats, but everyone gets to talk to the chef. The registration form asks whether you want to join one, as well as your preferred presentation language.
What Will Be Discussed: Aigarth, UPoW and Neuraxon
Three concepts run through the program. Useful Proof of Work (UPoW) means putting miners’ computing power to work on a useful task, here AI training, rather than on calculations whose only purpose is to secure the network; our guide to useful proof of work explains the mechanism. Classic mining is like a treadmill: a lot of energy spent standing still; useful mining hooks the treadmill up to a generator.
Aigarth, according to Qubic’s documentation, is the project that puts these computing resources to work on AI problems using evolutionary algorithms. Neuraxon, the most recent research branch, reached a score of 0.38 on the ARC-AGI-3 reasoning benchmark, up from 0.13, on ordinary CPUs and without a language model, according to the recap of Qubic’s September 17, 2026 All-Hands. This is a result reported by the project, which the Basel day will make it possible to question live.
How to Register, and Who Should Attend?
Registration takes place on the event page: name, email address, organization, presentation language and interest in the workshops. It is free and closes on October 31, 2026; the association states that it covers the costs. The day is aimed at the Qubic community, developers, researchers and the curious.
Basel is easy to reach by train from Zurich, Mulhouse or Freiburg im Breisgau, and the Escape Bar is at Gasstrasse 1. Membership of the association opens at the end of October 2026, according to its website.
The next deadline is October 31, when registration closes; the full speaker list, still to be announced, will show who delivers the keynote and sits on the panel alongside Joetom. On November 7, the thing to watch will be what the demo concretely shows of AI training by the network, and whether Neuraxon’s reported figures hold up to questions from the floor. To place Qubic on the events calendar, read our report on its presence at Paris Blockchain Week 2026.
Free entry, registration open until October 31: reserve your spot on the event page.
