Almost every day, the crypto exchange Binance finds itself at the heart of a new controversy. The latest involves the firm’s data request portal, which has reportedly been compromised. The situation is particularly concerning because it involves the potential exposure of personal user data.

Sale of Binance Crypto Users’ Personal Data!

With all the problems Binance is already facing, the crypto platform Binance is now embroiled in a new story. It particularly regards access to Binance’s data request portal.

The case is the talk of the crypto community especially because it involves crucial information about Binance’s users available on this portal. The fact that the portal is, in principle, only accessible to law enforcement adds to the intrigue.

Even more intriguing, a user by the name of Miembro on BreachForums recently revealed the sale of access to Binance’s data request portal. They claim to have purchased unauthorized access to Binance’s data request portal for $10,000.

Currently, the scope of the data sold is uncertain. As is whether it has found other buyers. However, what is certain is that the affair is causing a buzz, arousing concerns and speculation in its wake.

The Intrigue of Portal Access Method

Currently, the process used to gain access to this portal, which one would assume to be secure, remains a mystery. However, researchers at Hudson Rock, an Israeli cybercrime intelligence firm, have a lead.

According to them, malware in law enforcement centers in Taiwan, Uganda, and the Philippines may have facilitated access. Furthermore, it seems that Binance may allow access to police database services via Kodex Global.

When contacted for clarification on the incident, the crypto exchange provided no public response to the cybersecurity experts at Kodex Global. Meanwhile, Binance’s crypto users have reason for concern.

Indeed, the situation exposes their sensitive information, including emails, phone numbers, wallet addresses, and identities, to risks. In particular, risks of phishing attacks or harassment, among others.
