Bitcoin, ETH, XRP And BNB Show Diverging Price Trends

Summarize this article with:

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and BNB all experienced a sharp increase in volatility after the Binance hack. However, comparing their declines shows very different situations: BTC still defends a long-term trend, while XRP and ETH need to rebuild several lost supports.

The scene illustrates the resilience of Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and BNB in the face of a widespread crypto market crash. Four personified cryptocurrencies try to hold onto a collapsing cliff. On the left, Bitcoin appears powerful and securely gripped, while Ethereum struggles to maintain its position. Further along, XRP and BNB seem more exposed to danger. In the background, a huge downward red arrow and bearish charts symbolize selling pressure. The detached rocks accentuate market instability. Overall, it invites a comparison of their resilience, without definitively establishing which one resists this correction best.

In Brief

  • The Binance hack causes high volatility in the crypto market.
  • Bitcoin resists better than its competitors, with a limited drop of 6.5% from its recent high.
  • BNB falls by 14%, despite concerns related to the Binance hack.
  • Ethereum loses 20.6%, while XRP shows the strongest correction with a 23% drop.
  • Bitcoin attempts to preserve its major support around 76,000 dollars.

Bitcoin Limits the Damage, While XRP Drops More

Bitcoin traded around 76,650 dollars after its rejection in the 81,000 to 82,000 dollars zone. Its drop from this resistance is about 6.5%. The price now tests its 200-day moving average, located between 76,400 and 76,600 dollars.

The other three assets display deeper corrections from their recent highs. This difference allows evaluating their relative strength without limiting to their daily variation, heavily influenced by the Binance hack and the fall in U.S. tech stocks.

The ranking of declines clearly shows a hierarchy :

  • Bitcoin loses about 6.5% from the 82,000 dollars zone ;
  • BNB falls nearly 14% from its October peak around 810 dollars ;
  • Ethereum drops about 20.6% from its peak near 2,800 dollars ;
  • XRP plunges nearly 23% from its September high at 1.60 dollars ;
  • BTC remains close to its 200-day moving average ;
  • XRP and Ethereum are already trading below their main moving averages.

Bitcoin thus appears as the strongest asset in the group. This does not mean its downside risk has disappeared. A daily close below 76,000 dollars could open the way to 74,000 and then 72,000 dollars. Conversely, a return above 78,000 dollars would be a first stabilization, before the stronger resistance located between 80,000 and 82,000 dollars.

Its daily RSI is in the 30-point median zone. Selling pressure remains strong, but the indicator is approaching the oversold threshold. This configuration may cause a technical rebound without guaranteeing that the bottom has already been reached.

BNB Takes the Binance Shock Without Becoming the Weakest Link

BNB traded around 696 dollars after failing to hold the 750 dollars zone. The token fell below its 100-day moving average, close to 707 dollars, and is approaching a long-term support around 690 dollars.

This drop has a particular dimension. BNB is directly associated with the Binance ecosystem, whose wallets suffered a theft estimated at 6.3 billion dollars. Yet, its correction since its October peak remains less than those of Ethereum and XRP.

The zone between 680 and 690 dollars becomes decisive. A close below 690 dollars would increase the risk of a return to 680 dollars, then to the former floor around 650 dollars. To reverse the trend, BNB must first move back above 710 dollars. A recovery from 735 to 750 dollars would restore a more favorable structure.

Binance announced on October 31 it had replenished about 90% of the stolen assets. The remaining 10% concerns less liquid tokens, harder to buy back quickly. The platform also claims to have provisioned 6.34 billion dollars to cover all losses and plans a gradual resumption of withdrawals on November 1st.

These measures reduce the risk of a solvency crisis but do not eliminate the specific pressure on BNB. The reopening of withdrawals will allow checking if users keep their assets on Binance or choose to transfer them to other platforms.

Ethereum and XRP Must Regain Their Former Supports

Ethereum traded around 2,223 dollars after falling below 2,300 dollars. The price is now below the main daily moving averages. The zone between 2,170 and 2,200 dollars forms its first identifiable support.

A break of this band could bring ETH down to 2,100 dollars, then to the psychological threshold of 2,000 dollars. To relieve pressure, Ethereum must regain 2,300 dollars. A sustained move above 2,450 dollars would provide a more convincing signal of buyers returning.

XRP shows the most fragile structure of the four assets. The token traded around 1.235 dollars after losing the 1.30 dollars support and its 200-day moving average, located around 1.36 to 1.37 dollars.

The 1.20 dollar level now forms the main defense. If it breaks, the next supports are around 1.15 and 1.10 dollars. A more negative scenario would put the 1 dollar threshold back at the center of the market. On the upside, XRP must first recover 1.30 dollars, then the zone between 1.33 and 1.37 dollars.

The volatility on October 30 thus did not only cause a general decline. It revealed the relative strength of trends. Bitcoin still defends its long-term support, BNB resists better than its link with Binance might have suggested, while Ethereum and especially XRP must regain several lost levels before a recovery can be claimed.
