Bitcoin Falls, but U.S. ETFs Post Their Best Performance in Three Weeks

Getting informed Bitcoin (BTC)
Summarize this article with:

Bitcoin remains under pressure despite a visible return of institutional investors. American spot ETFs attracted $233.1 million in one session, their best result in over three weeks. This demand, however, did not prevent BTC from falling back below $64,000.

Wall Street financiers inject orange capital flows to support a volatile Bitcoin above the ,000 threshold.

In Brief

  • Bitcoin remains under $64,000 despite institutional demand.
  • American spot ETFs attract $233.1 million in one session.
  • BlackRock concentrates nearly 79% of net inflows.

Bitcoin ETFs record their best session in three weeks

American spot ETFs on Bitcoin attracted $233.1 million on July 30. This rebound extends a period during which Bitcoin ETFs had several positive weeks, despite particularly irregular daily flows. BlackRock’s IBIT fund largely dominates this recovery. It recorded $183.4 million in net inflows. This represents nearly 79% of the capital collected during the session. Bitwise follows with $20.7 million, while Fidelity attracts $15.5 million.

Several smaller funds also ended in the green. No Bitcoin ETF recorded net outflows that day. This distribution shows the movement is not solely based on transfers between products. New capital genuinely returned to this investment category. BlackRock’s dominance is no longer a surprise.

Since its launch, IBIT has become the main institutional entry point to Bitcoin in the United States. Its size, liquidity, and the power of its distribution network allow it to capture a large part of the flows during positive sessions.

July 30 figures confirm an extreme concentration. Nearly four out of five dollars were directed to IBIT. Other managers remain present but struggle to compete with BlackRock’s attraction capacity. This situation strengthens the weight of a single actor in American institutional demand.

The return of inflows comes after a difficult period. A few days earlier, Bitcoin ETFs had erased $526 million in four sessions. The current recovery is therefore not enough to erase all concerns. It mainly shows that investors have not abandoned the market.

Bitcoin price however refuses to rebound

Bitcoin had started the period around $64,500. It then briefly surpassed $65,200 before quickly losing that advantage. The price fell back to about $63,700, a decline of around 1.3% in 24 hours.

This gap between ETFs and the spot market may seem strange. An inflow of $233 million represents real demand. However, it is not always enough to offset sales on international platforms, profit-taking, and liquidations on derivatives.

ETFs therefore do not solely control Bitcoin’s price. They represent an important part of American demand, but BTC trades continuously on a global market. Strong fundraising can support the price medium-term while remaining invisible for a few hours against broader selling pressure.

July flows send a stronger signal

The session brings weekly net inflows to about $203.8 million. Unless a sharp reversal occurs during the last session, ETFs could finish a fourth consecutive week in the green. This regularity matters more than a single spectacular day.

Funds also show nearly $437.8 million in net inflows over the entire month of July. They could thus end two months marked by withdrawals of several billion. The change remains fragile but suggests some investors are taking advantage of Bitcoin’s drop to rebuild their positions.

The market ultimately sends two different messages. The price still signals short-term caution. ETFs show that part of institutional capital continues to accumulate. As in periods when Bitcoin held thanks to ETFs despite fragile momentum, these purchases can form a floor. However, they do not guarantee an immediate rebound above $64,000.
