Bybit EU Launches Auto-Invest: Accumulate Crypto Automatically via Bank Card
The Bybit EU platform finally launches its long-awaited “Recurring Buy” feature. European users can now schedule recurring cryptocurrency purchases directly from their bank card, at a daily, weekly, or monthly frequency. A revolution for DCA enthusiasts.

In brief
- Bybit EU launches crypto auto-investment by bank card.
- Recurring Buy facilitates DCA with scheduled and automated purchases.
- The service is MiCA-compliant and accessible in the EEA (excluding Malta).
Recurring Buy: what is crypto auto-investment?
Auto-investment (or “Recurring Buy” in English) allows users to automate their cryptocurrency purchases according to a predefined schedule. Instead of manually making each transaction, the platform automatically executes purchase orders on the dates and frequencies chosen by the investor.
This feature is based on a proven investment strategy: Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA), literally “smoothing the purchase cost.” The principle is simple: invest fixed amounts at regular intervals, regardless of market price. When prices fall, the same amount buys more units; when prices rise, fewer units are bought. Over the long term, this approach helps smooth the average acquisition price and reduce the impact of volatility.
According to a Kraken survey, DCA is the preferred investment strategy of crypto investors, with nearly 60% of respondents using it regularly. The main reason: it removes the stress related to “market timing” and encourages disciplined long-term investing.
How does Recurring Buy work on Bybit EU?
Setting up an auto-investment plan on Bybit EU is done in a few simple steps. The user must first log into their verified account (KYC mandatory under MiCA), then go to the “Buy Crypto” section and select “Recurring Buy” from the menu.
Customizable settings
- Purchase frequency: daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly. The user can also choose the exact day and time of execution.
- Amount: the amount in euros (or other fiat currency) to invest at each interval. The limits align with those of the One-Click Buy function.
- Target cryptocurrency: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT, USDC, and many other cryptocurrencies available on the platform.
- Payment method: the big novelty lies in the possibility to connect your bank card directly. Funds are automatically debited at each interval without manual intervention. Alternatively, users can use their available fiat balance on their Funding account.
Each user can create up to 20 simultaneous Recurring Buy plans, allowing diversification of automated investments across several assets.
Fees and conditions: what you need to know
Creating a Recurring Buy plan is free. No fees apply for scheduling purchases. However, once the plan is activated, each transaction is subject to Bybit EU’s standard trading fees. For card purchases, a spread and provider fees apply: our November 2025 tests indicated a total cost of about 1.2% to 1.6% above the mid-market price with a European Visa card.
Important point: if the available balance (Funding account or card) is insufficient at an interval, the transaction fails. The system will retry at the next scheduled date. After three consecutive failures, the plan is automatically canceled. It is therefore crucial to maintain sufficient funds.
Note: once created, a plan cannot be modified. To adjust the settings (amount, frequency, target crypto), you must cancel the existing plan and create a new one.
Why does DCA appeal to crypto investors?
The cryptocurrency market is known for its extreme volatility. Price swings of 30% in a single day are not uncommon. In this context, attempting to “time” the market to buy at the lowest point is often a challenge, even for experienced traders.
DCA offers several concrete advantages:
- Reduction of timing risk: by spreading purchases, you avoid investing your entire capital at the worst possible time.
- Investment discipline: automation removes emotional biases (FOMO, panic) that often lead to poor decisions.
- Accessibility: no need to constantly follow markets nor master technical analysis.
- Compounding effect: regular accumulation promotes gradual portfolio growth over the long term.
However, beware: DCA does not guarantee profit and does not protect against losses in a prolonged bear market. It is primarily a risk management tool, not a miracle strategy.
Bybit EU: a regulated framework under MiCA
Bybit EU GmbH operates under a MiCAR license (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) issued by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) in May 2025. This authorization allows the platform to offer its crypto-asset custody and exchange services throughout the European Economic Area (EEA), except Malta.
Based in Vienna (Austria), Bybit’s European entity offers a range of services adapted to the local regulatory framework: spot trading, savings products (Bybit Earn), Mastercard payment card with cashback, and now auto-investment. Derivatives and leveraged products remain limited according to MiCA restrictions for retail users.
The platform also publishes Proof-of-Reserves audited by Hacken, reinforcing transparency on client asset coverage.
What this means for the user
Until now, the Auto-Invest feature on Bybit (global version) required pre-funding the Funding account in fiat or crypto. The ability to connect a bank card directly for automatic debits represents a major simplification. The investor can now set up their plan once and for all without worrying about maintaining a sufficient platform balance: funds are debited directly from their bank account via the card.
This functionality was long requested by the European community. It positions Bybit EU alongside competitors like Crypto.com, Coinbase, or Bitpanda which already offered recurring card purchases. The arrival of Recurring Buy completes the Bybit EU ecosystem alongside the Bybit Card (launched in September 2025 with 20% cashback) and DCA trading bots introduced at the end of September.
