Crypto.com & CONMEBOL strike a multi-year partnership

Crypto.com, the world’s fastest-growing crypto hub, has announced an upcoming partnership with The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).

A brief overview of the partnership

The partnership includes an Official Partner status for Crypto.com during the 2023-2026 cycle of CONMEBOL Libertadores, an annual international club football competition held by CONMEBOL since 1960.

Crypto.com is proud to be the first brand in line to be integrated into the Virtual Assistant Referee (VAR) feature — a video-based technology aimed to help referees pass judgements with high precision and iron out any human error while doing so.

“Additionally, Crypto.com will benefit from brand exposure in stadiums, activations and broadcasts of the Conmebol Libertadores, as well as digital assets,” the exchange said in its statement.

And, of course, the platform will benefit from a new level of digital asset engagement during the games: Crypto.com has been trusted with developing a line of NFT’s representing various IP’s of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Competition. As one would expect, the NFT’s will be distributed via Crypto.com’s own NFT marketplace, which has already been a hotspot with living legends like Gareth Bale successfully selling their unique hand-signed tokens.

A word from the creators

Here’s what José Astigarraga, Secretary-General of CONMEBOL, said about the partnership: “CONMEBOL is always working to be a leading and cutting-edge institution. We are sure that Crypto.com upholds that same philosophy as the industry leader. We are convinced that this partnership will be to the benefit of South American football and also for this thriving company.”

Kris Marszalek, Crypto.com’s Co-founder and CEO, also commented: “The CONMEBOL Libertadores is the peak of South American club football – this exciting, beautiful game of highs and lows brings us together like nothing else”, said Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com. “Our research shows Latin America is leading the way in embracing cryptocurrency, with 40% of Latin Americans saying they are interested in buying crypto in the near future. Naturally, we were eager to support the continent’s most important football competition, adding to our world-class portfolio of sports sponsorships”.

About Crypto.com

The platform has been especially bullish as of late, striking lucrative partnerships with high-profile entities from all fields and strengthening its already formidable presence in the worldwide crypto arena. The platform has even pulled off the renaming of the Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena. Other noteworthy strides the platform has taken include teaming up with UFC, Formula 1, Paris Saint-Germain, and the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, among others. And that’s not to mention the ever-growing number of celebrities who buy into the platform, in particular its NFT marketplace, as a compelling space for self-promotion.

Founded in 2016, Crypto.com has been entirely dedicated to the idea of delivering the highest-quality crypto tools & services to the screens and fingertips of any crypto enthusiast.
