Summarize this article with:

Peter Brandt believes that the price of Ethereum would reach 8600 dollars following a break of 5000 dollars. Ether progressing around 2660 dollars, this scenario remains distant and depends on multiple intermediate resistances.

Peter Brandt occupies the foreground in a gigantic mechanical trading floor. He examines with a magnifying glass an enormous metal lock placed at the center of a monumental door. Behind this door appears a spectacular orange ramp rising toward a luminous platform displaying simply 8600. In front of the door, a large Ether coin waits, leaning slightly forward as if ready to dash as soon as it opens. Brandt points a finger at a small component of the lock mechanism with a focused expression: it appears to be the key to triggering the entire opening.

In Brief

  • Peter Brandt targets an ether at 8600 $ after a break of 5000 $.
  • The 3000 $ level remains the first major resistance to break.
  • Ethereum ETFs record new capital inflows.
  • BitMine continues to accumulate and stake a significant share of its ETH.
  • The 8600 $ target remains a technical scenario, without guarantee or precise timeline.

The three key levels of the Ethereum forecast

On September 21, Peter Brandt released a long-term chart covering CME Ether futures contracts. In his analysis, he shows a first major resistance around 5000 dollars, then a target precisely located at 8674.50 dollars.

The analyst thus rounded this second level to 8600 dollars. At the current price, Ether should first rise by nearly 88% to approach 5000 dollars. A rise to 8600 dollars would then constitute a total gain close to 223%.

This hypothesis is structured around three levels :

  • The 3000 dollar zone, the first short-term resistance ;
  • The 5000 dollar threshold, necessary to validate the scenario ;
  • The long-term target between 8600 and 8675 dollars.

Peter Brandt states therefore :

My long-term chart on ETH implies a move toward 8600 dollars once 5000 dollars is broken.

The 5000 dollar threshold is still very far away

The 8600 dollars are not presented as an immediate target on Peter Brandt’s chart. Indeed, the investor conditions this forecast on a sustained break of 5000 dollars. The potential appreciation could still reach 72% between these two thresholds.

Beforehand, Ether must reclaim the 2800 to 3000 dollar zone. This level has already attracted traders’ attention during the rebound observed from 2360 dollars at the beginning of September. An inability to break 3000 dollars could strongly delay the proposed scenario.

Peter Brandt also makes a distinction between a chart analysis and an actual market position. He indicates that the publication of a chart does not signal that he has executed a trade. This reservation limits the scope of his message. He outlines a possible trajectory but presents neither timetable nor acquisition strategy.

Nevertheless, his experience explains the attention paid to his charts. Active in commodity markets since 1976, he founded Factor Trading in 1980 and mainly relies on classical chart analysis.

ETFs and BitMine support ether demand

This forecast comes in a context of capital returning to Ethereum. The spot US ETFs recorded 270 million dollars of net inflows on September 21. Then, flows were around 162.2 million dollars on September 22, then 104.5 million the following day.

These three sessions thus represent cumulative inflows of 536.7 million dollars. BlackRock and Fidelity have collected a significant portion of funds, even though flows can quickly reverse from one day to the next.

Treasury companies are also consolidating their reserves. BitMine Immersion Technologies possessed 5983940 ETH as of September 20, nearly 4.9% of the circulating supply announced by the company. It had acquired an additional 27562 ETH during the previous week.

BitMine had staked 5067309 ETH, about 85% of its holdings. The company is now seeking to raise its reserve to 5% of the total supply. These acquisitions reduce the quantity directly available; however, they do not guarantee an increase in Ethereum’s price.

A technical target, not a market certainty

The scenario announced by Peter Brandt depends primarily on a chart confirmation. A momentary rise above 5000 dollars might not necessarily suffice. Investors will likely need to monitor the duration of the breakthrough, traded volumes, and weekly closes.

Conversely, a rejection below 3000 dollars could keep Ether far from the envisaged setup. The market also remains exposed to bitcoin movements, US monetary decisions, and ETF capital outflows.

BitMine acquisitions and recent inflows into listed funds provide measurable support to demand. However, they do not validate the 8600 dollar target. This remains a forecast derived from technical analysis, without a concise deadline and conditioned by a prior doubling of the price.
