World Summit AI 2026: What AI Agents Change for Crypto
World Summit AI brings together on October 7 and 8, 2026, near Amsterdam, nearly 10,000 participants and 300 speakers expected, according to the organizer. The published program includes no sessions dedicated to crypto, but it gives a large place to AI agents, software capable of acting alone, which payment networks are already preparing to settle in stablecoins. Cointribune explains what a crypto reader can learn there, who speaks, and how much the ticket costs.

Why is a crypto reader interested in an AI summit?
Because AI agents will need to pay. An AI agent is a program that does not just respond: it acts, books, buys, or negotiates for you. Visa believes stablecoins will carry the microcommerce of these agents, as we reported in our article on Visa, stablecoins, and AI agents. Entrusting a task to an agent is a bit like entrusting your bank card to an assistant: the question is no longer just what it can do, but how it pays and within what limits.
Let’s be clear about the angle: as of September 30, the official program includes no sessions on blockchain, crypto, or stablecoins. The link with crypto is a reading by Cointribune, not an organizer’s theme. Read as a business operation, World Summit AI sells access to companies building AI and policymakers who regulate it; for a crypto investor or project, the interest is to see where agents stand before they become blockchain clients.
World Summit AI started nearly ten years ago, before AI made headlines worldwide, with a simple conviction: the future of this technology must be built through open dialogue, at the scale of the entire ecosystem.

Who speaks, and which sessions to follow?
Eight stages share the program, from the main stage to a forum on sovereign AI, new this year. For a crypto reader, the session closest to the subject is announced on the main stage: “The Future of AI Agents: The Agent Development Lifecycle,” dedicated to the lifecycle of agents, according to the organizer’s blog.
| Speaker | Position | Why follow |
|---|---|---|
| Harrison Chase | Co-founder and CEO of LangChain | His tool is used to build AI agents |
| Zico Kolter | OpenAI board member, professor at Carnegie Mellon | Model and agent security |
| Audrey Tang | Cyber Ambassador of Taiwan | Civic technologies and digital identity |
| Mark Papermaster | CTO of AMD | Chips and computing power |
| Helen King | Vice President Responsibility, Google DeepMind | Advanced model governance |
| Anu Talus | Chair of the European Data Protection Board | Personal data and AI in Europe |
A theme of the main stage deserves clarification: “Decentralised & Edge AI” (Decentralized and edge AI). It refers to bringing data computation closer, on phones or sensors, not using a blockchain.
What has the AI Act changed since August 2?
The European regulation on artificial intelligence, in effect since August 1, 2024, became applicable on August 2, 2026, with exceptions, according to the European Commission page. It works like a technical inspection: the more risk an AI system presents, the heavier the obligations. Transparency rules also took effect in August 2026: a user must know when they are interacting with an AI.
For a crypto platform offering an assistant or AI agent to its customers in Europe, this text adds to the MiCA regulation. It is one of the topics that European officials present in Amsterdam, from the European Data Protection Board to the Portuguese government, are likely to address.
How much does the ticket cost?
The prices are shown excluding VAT on the official ticketing site. Group discounts apply from five people (10% for 5 to 9, 15% for 10 to 24, 20% for 25 to 47), and special rates exist for startups, students, and academia based on an application.
| Ticket | Price (excl. VAT) | With code −20% (Cointribune calculation) |
|---|---|---|
| Exclusive Member Bundle (with 12 months membership) | €1,399 | €1,119.20 |
| Expo & Content | €1,699 | €1,359.20 |
| VIP | €1,999 | €1,599.20 |
| Solution Providers | €2,699 | €2,159.20 |
Regarding access, the venue is in Zaandam, 2.8 km from the station, with no on-site parking; free shuttles depart from a park-and-ride, according to the organizer’s practical guide. The summit is part of the World AI Week, from October 5 to 9, whose events are booked separately on its site.
See you Wednesday, October 7 at 8 a.m. in Zaandam, for two days ending on October 8 at 6 p.m. One thing to watch there: whether sessions on AI agents address the question of payment, and thus that of stablecoins, or if this topic remains confined to crypto salons. To extend the reflection, reread why Brian Armstrong sees AI agents as the future of finance.
