Artificial intelligence equates to unemployment, some workers believe. And they are right to think so because waves of layoffs are about to sweep the working world soon. But John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States, does not share this view. For him, AI is capable of revolutionizing the legal system. Details !

John Roberts Praises the Merits of Artificial Intelligence

For some, AI constitutes a threat to millions of workers around the globe. Elon Musk did not mince his words when he described these programs as a “most disruptive force in history.” He made this statement during his meeting with the current British prime minister, Rishi Sunak, last November.

Why refer to artificial intelligences as disruptive? In fact, they will be able to replace certain employees. The unemployed will be counted by hundreds of millions in the near future.

Google has already announced the elimination of 30,000 jobs in order to gain efficiency.

John Roberts is rather confident about AI

Cointelegraph reports in a recent publication that John Roberts, Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, has ruled on Artificial Intelligence in his end-of-year report. He particularly predicted that AI will have a “significant” impact on legal work.

As the year 2023 comes to an end with thrilling predictions about the future of artificial intelligence, some may ask if judges are on the verge of becoming obsolete. I am certain that is not the case, but I am just as convinced that technological changes will continue to transform our work,” reads in his statement.

For J. Roberts, under no circumstances can these innovations replace human beings in decision-making: judges “would be around for some time,” he estimates.

Explanations :

“Nuance matters. Much can turn on a shaking hand, a quivering voice, a change of inflection, a bead of sweat, a moment’s hesitation, a fleeting break in eye contact.”

Moreover, people automatically place their trust in humans over AI in assessing nuances and making decisions.
