Gemini now a crypto services provider in France

Gemini, the crypto exchange platform founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, has just received the approval of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) in France. This approval as a virtual asset service provider marks a giant leap for Gemini. Indeed, the exchange now positions itself as a major player in the crypto sector in France.

The crypto exchange is gearing up to launch a full range of services for retail customers and institutions, according to a company press release. This promises access to about sixty cryptocurrencies.

The arrival of Gemini in France is met with palpable enthusiasm by the local crypto community. By providing secure services that comply with regulations, Gemini is preparing to meet the growing needs of crypto investors in France.

The company plans to offer access via its website, mobile app, as well as other platforms like Gemini eOTC and ActiveTrader. This underlines its commitment to providing an optimal user experience.

Impacts on the French Market

Gemini’s entry into the French market coincides with a steady increase in transaction volume on the platform, reflecting the growing interest in cryptocurrencies.

In December 2023, the exchange recorded a trading volume of $1.58 billion. This represents an increase of 26.4% over the previous month.

The launch of this exchange in France is a clear indicator of the positive evolution of the regulatory framework in the country. By focusing on compliance and security, Gemini also plays a role as a catalyst in the adoption of cryptocurrencies by a wider audience.

This advancement is also an encouraging sign for other industry stakeholders, who may be prompted to explore the French market. Indeed, in December 2023, the French regulator authorized Coinbase to provide its services in the country, thereby reinforcing France’s status as a hub of innovation in the crypto sector.
