The major bitcoin corrections are losing magnitude. They have gone from about 85% in the early cycles to 84%, then 77%, and nearly 53% in the current cycle. Data compiled by Galaxy Research show this progressive compression, even though the 2025-2026 cycle bottom is not yet definitively confirmed.

Over the past three weeks, Bitcoin ETFs have captured approximately 3.8 billion dollars. This is their best performance since the beginning of this year. In the last week, they attracted an additional 986.9 million dollars despite a withdrawal. This recovery thus confirms the return of institutional demand, although it has not yet offset all the outflows recorded since January.

For about ten years, ZEC has just crossed 1000 dollars for the first time. This crypto briefly exceeded 1045 dollars on Friday, September 4, after a monthly increase close to 100%. Such a rally was supported by the launch of Grayscale's Zcash ETF, demand for confidential transactions, and short position liquidations. However, the evolution of leverage and the high RSI level now amplify the risk of a sharp pullback.

The National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) has just eased up on the CLARITY Act, a few days before a tight vote in the Senate. A turnaround that changes the game for hesitant Democrats. But on the crypto market side, an expert warns that regulatory clarity could well turn into a "sell the news" trap.

Bitcoin has just erased part of its rebound after a peak at 82281 dollars on September 4. Indeed, the price dropped back to around 79000 dollars, a decline of nearly 4% in a few hours. The daily trend remains favorable, but short-term indicators signal a loss of momentum. It is the maintenance of the support located around 78500 dollars that will now determine whether this decline remains temporary or invalidates the recent bullish breakout.

The contrast is striking. In July, Brazilian residents purchased "only" 572 million dollars worth of crypto, according to the balance of payments report published on August 27 by the Central Bank. A month earlier, the counter peaked at 2.6 billion. Within thirty days, the plunge thus approaches 80%. Coincidence of calendar? Hard to believe: July marked the very first full month of application of the new governance and anti-money laundering control requirements imposed on local platforms.

El Salvador continues to show an increasing Bitcoin reserve. However, the State allegedly did not use public money to buy the BTC added since June 2025. The IMF states it received documents showing this increase comes from private donations. The official reserve now reaches about 7,764 bitcoins.

Bitcoin has just briefly surpassed 82000 dollars. It thus crosses its 50-week moving average. This threshold accompanied the end of four of the five previous comparable bear markets. However, the signal remains incomplete, as it must be confirmed by a weekly close. A failure below the 81000 to 86000 dollar zone would place the supports at 71800 and 62000 dollars back at the center of trading.

Tether has won big again with USDT. The issuer of the market's first stablecoin reports a net operating profit of 1.3 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2026. Its excess reserves now reach 5.2 billion. U.S. Treasury bonds remain at the heart of its revenues.

Poland faces a new stage in the Zondacrypto case, following three arrests decided Wednesday by the authorities. The investigation concerns the collapse of this major platform, marked by the halt of withdrawals and heavy losses for users. Among those detained is trader Rafał Zaorski, known in the financial world. The investigations also examine suspicions of fraud, money laundering, and links with several actors in the national political scene.

American Bitcoin ETFs attracted $101.15 million on September 2nd. This rebound comes after an outflow of $236.5 million the previous day. Ethereum and XRP ETFs ended positive streaks that had captured $1.62 billion and $170 million respectively. At the same time, Solana products also closed the session in the red. These movements reveal a temporary rotation of capital towards Bitcoin rather than a general withdrawal by institutional investors.

Craig Wright, the man who faked being Satoshi, just got Hollywood's red carpet treatment. $70 million, Gal Gadot, and a whitewash of history. Truth takes a back seat. Where do we go from here?

Bitcoin has now surpassed 78,900 dollars after Wednesday's drop. BTC trades around 78,800 dollars, with a rise of more than 2% during the day. The movement also benefits several altcoins. Arbitrum continues its rally and PONS recorded a new high above 0.50 dollar. The dollar declines in parallel and gives some breathing room back to risky assets.

The world's largest crypto event returns to Marina Bay Sands on 7-8 October 2026. What sets this edition apart: with the Dubai edition pushed back to April 2027, TOKEN2049 Singapore is the brand's only major gathering this year. That packs an entire industry's attention, and likely a wave of announcements, into two days. Cointribune is a partner of the edition, with a discount code to match.

Usually, the month of September is a risky period for crypto investments. Historically, Bitcoin shows its weakest monthly performance during this period, while central bank decisions can intensify volatility. This year's context adds many uncertainties, including a probable rate hike in the United States. Despite these threats, three cryptos still have strong arguments to get through the month. These are Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

Strategy sold 6,916 bitcoins at an average price of about 62,200 dollars between late June and mid-August. A few weeks later, the company bought back 4,603 at 80,318 dollars each. An operation that looks like a classic "sell low, buy high." Its CEO Phong Le does not regret anything: the Bitcoin price was not the priority. The balance sheet needed to be strengthened first.

The dismantling of Sality ends a long cryptocurrency hijacking operation. This botnet, active since 2003, spent its last eight years stealing bitcoins and Ethers. Its method relied on a simple technique: modifying wallet addresses copied on infected machines. CrowdStrike and the U.S. Department of Justice coordinated the operation. This globally conducted operation isolated more than 15,000 machines across several regions of the world. The crypto phenomenon was at the heart of this activity.

Grayscale, a16z and the Crypto Council for Innovation ask the SEC not to automatically tighten the rules for the new generation of ETFs. The crypto sector especially refuses that Bitcoin, Ethereum or other digital assets be placed in the same category as private asset funds, leveraged strategies or event contracts. The three organizations want faster reviews tailored to the real risk of each product.

Bitcoin falls below $77,000 as U.S. strikes on Iran send oil soaring to $93. A surprising decoupling with gold emerges, revealing BTC's fragility to geopolitical shocks.

Hut 8 is transforming its Bitcoin-based infrastructures into machines for AI. Its Beacon Point campus in Texas now shows 704 MW of leased capacity for a base contract value of 19.6 billion dollars. Behind the setup are two giants: Nvidia would hold the site lease, while Anthropic has just signed a 35 billion contract with Lambda to use part of this power.

Net inflows have been recorded in US XRP ETFs for eleven consecutive sessions. This streak, starting on August 18, brought them nearly 170 million dollars and raised their cumulative flows to 1.68 billion since their launch. Meanwhile, Q2 publications position Goldman Sachs as the leading known institutional investor. However, these two statistics do not cover the same period and do not allow linking recent flows to the American bank.

Privacy-focused cryptos widely outperformed the market in August. Zcash (ZEC) climbed 82%, driven by the launch of Grayscale's spot ZCSH ETF on NYSE Arca. Monero (XMR), on the other hand, rose 40%, thanks to the arrival of native swaps on THORChain v3.20. And the momentum does not stop there: several more discreet privacy coins are also benefiting, even though regulatory pressure remains strong.

Bitcoin started September below 78000 dollars after a 25% rise in August, its best monthly performance since November 2024. Indeed, this entry into the month called "Rektember" revives an unfavorable seasonality. Bitcoin loses on average about 3% in September since 2013. In 2026, the main risk however does not come from the calendar but from the Federal Reserve. Markets now anticipate a possible rate increase starting September 16.

In my previous analysis, I was quite clear: Bitcoin was not bullish yet unless it was able to reclaim and decisively break above the $67,000 area.

That cheeky Bitcoin just served up its best August in nine years with a solid 25% run, giving exhausted crypto holders a rare summer win while everyone eyes the September trap.

The balance of power between centralized and decentralized platforms has reached a new milestone. In July 2026, DEX spot volume equaled nearly 24% of CEX volume, the highest since tracking began in 2019. The number is real. Its interpretation deserves a closer look: this record owes as much to the retreat of centralized platforms as to the strength of DEXs, and it lands at the worst possible time for European traders, in the middle of a regulatory shift.

Bitcoin treasury companies face a new debate around inclusion criteria in major indices. Saylor and Strategy contest an MSCI proposal targeting certain companies considered nonoperational. The group believes this filter could exclude several digital asset-related stocks. However, the cost of this decision goes beyond the companies concerned, as billions of dollars in capital could be affected. The MSCI consultation remains open until September 30 before a decision is expected in October.

The number of addresses holding at least one million dollars in bitcoins increased by 10.4% during the month of August. According to available statistics, it rose from 111846 to 123482. This increase accompanies the monthly rebound of more than 20% of BTC. However, it does not mean that 11636 people became millionaires, because an address does not necessarily equate to a single investor.
